1. Acceptance
By accessing safe4.ai or calling the Safe4 API you agree to these terms. If you use the services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind it.
2. The services
Safe4 provides this website and a paid API at api.safe4.ai that returns a payment authorization decision — ALLOW or DENY with a machine-readable reason code — for a proposed AI agent payment. The API is priced per call in USDC over the x402 protocol; the current price is stated in the 402 challenge and the published specification.
3. Decisions are signals, not payments
Safe4 does not execute, custody, route, or reverse payments. A decision is an input to your own systems: you and your agents remain solely responsible for any payment you execute, including after an ALLOW. An ALLOW is not a representation that a transaction is safe, lawful, or suitable, and a DENY is not a representation that it is fraudulent.
4. Fees
Fees are charged per delivered decision. A request that fails before a decision is produced — for example, a payment that does not settle — is not charged. Fees are non-refundable once a decision has been delivered. Both ALLOW and DENY are delivered decisions.
5. Beta status and test networks
Parts of the service operate on blockchain test networks and are offered as a beta. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use the services for unlawful purposes, to facilitate unlawful payments, or to probe, overload, disrupt, or circumvent the service or its security. Automated use through the documented API is expected and welcome.
7. Intellectual property
The services, site content, and Safe4 marks are owned by Safe4 or its licensors. Open-source components are licensed under their own terms.
8. Disclaimers
The services are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that decisions will be accurate, complete, or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Safe4 will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or funds transferred by you or your agents. Our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the services is capped at the greater of one hundred US dollars and the fees you paid to Safe4 in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Safe4 against claims arising from your use of the services, the actions of your agents, or your breach of these terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination survive it, including fees, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict of law rules. Exclusive venue for disputes is the state and federal courts located in Wyoming.
13. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always at this address, with its date above. Continued use after a change takes effect is acceptance of the revised terms.
